In Brittany, farmers are launching their own short circuit brand

How to become independent and distance yourself from supermarkets when you work in agriculture? Two families found the answer: they came together and created their own brand: Les Terroirs d’Elorn. Based in Suzin, in Finistère, this brand that relies on the short circuit also brings together more than sixty other manufacturers, located within a radius of only 50 kilometers, reports West France† On the menu: fresh fruit, vegetables and other products. Enough to feed his family, while the farmers benefit directly.

In concrete terms, 80% of the products (fruit, vegetables, cold meats, butchers, jams, honey, pancakes, creamery, etc.) come from the region, less than 50 kilometers away. The rest, especially the wine and salt, comes from a little further. The products come from conventional farming or organic farming.

The two families behind the project assure it: their goal is to provide a sustainable alternative to producers in the region. “We know the rules of supermarkets and cooperatives that are strangling us. We don’t want to do the same.”point out Jean-Jacques Breton and Bernard Le Bot West France† “There, with this sales area, we find a human side and that strengthens our products. It is certain that we will not find bananas in our shop. It’s militant,” said Bernard Le Bot.

An initiative that makes both farmers and Breton consumers happy.
