The bike bonus
When purchasing an electric bicycle, an electric bicycle trailer or a cargo bike, you may be entitled to an ecological allowance. For this, you must be of age, domiciled in France and present a reference tax income per unit of less than or equal to 13,489 euros in the year prior to the purchase of the bicycle. It must be new and have a lead-free battery. The amount of state aid here is equal to the amount of aid that the municipality gives for the purchase of your bicycle, up to a maximum of 200 euros. For the purchase of a cargo bike, this can amount to 40% of the purchase price, up to a limit of 1,000 euros. In all cases, the application is made online.
The conversion bonus
If your next electric bicycle is destined to become your standard mode of transport and you want to dispose of your old car (petrol or diesel), you are entitled to the conversion bonus, the same that also applies to the purchase of an electric car, scooter or motorcycle. To take advantage of this, you must scrap a diesel car from before 2011 or a petrol car registered before 2006. The amount of this bonus is set at 40% of the purchase price of the electrically assisted bicycle, up to a limit of 1,500 euros. This also applies to the purchase of a cargo bike, whether electric or not.
