In the UK, White Rabbit has set itself the ambition to “making the vegan diet more inclusive”† In this context, the British brand of Italian food products has just launched a new, completely vegan and gluten-free calzone. According to the company, this would be a first on the market. This pizza consists of a gluten-free sourdough base, Sicilian tomatoes, sliced vegetable “chicken”, vegan pesto, all topped with mozzarella-like cheese. Made by the MozzaRisella brand, this cheese alternative is also free from all major allergens such as soy, coconut and gluten.
White Rabbit’s ‘Chick’n & Pesto’ is available in Sainsbury’s stores in the UK. The retail price is £5 (about 6 euros). The company is enriching its range of vegan and gluten-free pizzas, which are already distributed at Waitrose, Sainsbury’s, Ocado, Holland & Barrett, and more.
