Lyon: a striking and symbolic collage with Vladimir Poutine installed place de la Paix

In recent days, the eyes of Lyonnaises and Lyonnais have been on Place de la Paix. And it’s not for nothing that a disturbing, powerful and symbolic collage has just been placed on the corner of the street. He represents Vladimir Putin.

This strong and committed drawing is the work of street artist Big-ben. To denounce the horrors of the war in Ukraine, de Lyonnais chose to use creativity, because for him images are more powerful than words. The artist has installed, christened his ephemeral work “The Ogre”in the 1st arrondissement of the City of Light.

It depicts Putin, his face hostile and the blood streaming from his lips. The dictator holds in his hands a decapitated pigeon which he seems to have killed with his own teeth. A symbolic choice as this bird represents peace and hope. Look :

It is not the first time that Big Ben has been talked about with his engaged and strikingly topical works. We keep his tribute to David Bowie or Johnny Hallyday in mind. To discover all his collages, go here.

A powerful work that speaks for itself.
