In terminal phase of cancer, Briton raises 4 million euros for research

Deborah James, aka Bowel Babe, is the host of “You, Me and the Big C”a podcast from the BBC devoted entirely to the disease. As of 2016, this 40-year-old Brit and mother of two young people (12 and 14) has shared her battle with colon cancer, one of the most common with 1.93 million cases worldwide, according to the World Health Organization. †

But this Tuesday, May 10, Deborah James made a shocking announcement on social networks. She confided in the evolution of her disease and revealed that she was in the terminal phase. A poignant message that shook the web. At the end of this poignant post, followed by nearly 340,000 people around the world, she launched a call for donations for cancer research.

“It’s a message I never wanted to write. We’ve tried everything, but my body just isn’t playing the game. […] anything i ask please […] buy me a drink to watch me leave this world by donating to @Bowelbabefund which will help us raise money for other vital cancer research.”
