Plant based pastries come to London, at a high level of luxury. Famous department store Harrods has just added two vegan options to its desserts, in line with the concerns of its customers. The two exclusive items, a pastry and a chocolate bar, are made with a vegan alternative to milk chocolate. This is M*lk chocolate from the vegan brand NXT, launched by the Belgian chocolatier Callebaut’s. According to Plant Based News, this is the first time this chocolate is available to the general public.
Harrods’ new patisserie has a sleek design inspired by the sun’s rays. Dubbed “Dawn of a New Day,” this dessert combines NXT M*lk chocolate with tea-poached pears, crunchy cookies, and vegan chocolate whipped cream. The product is for sale at the London bakery counter.
To alternate the delights, the luxury store also offers a new chocolate bar: “Every Cloud has a Silver Lining”. This cloud-shaped vegan candy consists of light vegan chocolate, a crunchy biscuit and caramel with coffee flavor. This chocolate bar is sold in Harrods’ “Chocolate Hall”.
The two novelties also contain no nuts. With this launch, Harrods continues its efforts to make its offerings greener, having joined Veganuary last January.
