There are innovations that seem to take us back to a time that people under 20 can’t know. The French subsidiary of Coca-Cola is setting the perfect example with a new initiative implemented to reduce its environmental footprint: the introduction on the market by the end of 2022, and with its restaurant partners, of a single model of 25 cl glass bottle for all its brands, namely Fanta, Tropico, Fuze Tea, Minute Maid and Sprite.
Goal for Cola-Cola: prevent bottles from being thrown in the trash and thus glass waste, encourage catering professionals to fully adopt the deposit system and thereby facilitate the management of returns for cleaning and reuse in the long term, can we read in? Le Figaro†
This initiative would save Cola-Cola by 15 million single-use glass bottles by 2022 alone. The reusable bottles would be reusable up to 25 times, enough to reduce the subsidiary’s CO2 emissions by 30%.
