Food supplement brand VEG 1 is now an official sponsor of Forest Green Rovers Football Club (UK), the world’s first fully vegan and carbon neutral football club. The VEG 1 supplement, developed by The Vegan Society, is a “affordable and reliable source of vitamins D3, B12, B2 and B6, folic acid, iodine and selenium”, we can read on their site (in English). It comes in the form of chewable tablets with orange or black currant flavour, in an aluminum box that is fully recyclable.
To kick off this new partnership, The Vegan Society staff attended the UK club’s first match sponsored by VEG 1 on January 18. An opportunity at the right time, right in the heart of Veganuary. For their part, Forest Green Rovers are described by FIFA as: “the greenest football club in the world” due to their carbon neutrality and the fact that they only serve vegan food, registered under the Vegan Trademark. They are currently top of the Premier League in the fourth division.
