Switzerland celebrates its first same-sex marriages

Voted by referendum on September 26, marriage has been officially legal for everyone in Switzerland since July 1. The Swiss adopted it at 64%, recalls to miss and all cantons voted in favor of the adoption of this new law.

Switzerland is one of the last countries in Europe to legalize same-sex unions, almost 10 years after France and 17 years after Spain. It is also the thirty-first state in the world to recognize the union between two people of the same sex.
