Ranking cycling cities: which cities will be at the top in 2021?

Grenoble is the major French city where cycling is most enjoyable, according to the latest cycling city barometer organized by the French Federation of Cyclists. Nevertheless, it appears from this consultation that almost two thirds of cyclists still think the cycling conditions in France are too bad.

Almost half of the cyclists surveyed believe that the situation has not changed much in the past two years (47.8%). They are ultimately only 36.5% who think it has improved, against 15.7% who, on the other hand, think it has deteriorated.

Three quarters of the respondents find motorized traffic a nuisance on a bicycle. For an overwhelming majority (81%), crossing an intersection or a roundabout remains extremely dangerous. Other frequent concerns: the difficulty of parking at stations (60%) and recurrent conflicts with pedestrians (43%).

42.7% of surveyed cyclists cycle every day or almost, mainly for utilitarian trips (68%), leisure (62%) and to go to work (60%).

The ranking of this barometer is divided into 5 categories of cities, classified according to their population.
