Dandelion is rich in polyphenols, a molecule that plants naturally produce to defend against various attacks. As a result, when used in oil, dandelion also acts as a protective shield for the skin. How do you make dandelion oil?
As a reminder, an oily macerate, also called floral oil, comes from the maceration of leaves, flowers, roots, seeds or aromatic plants in a vegetable oil (sunflower, olive, jojoba, avocado, sweet almond, sesame, etc.). Preparing dandelion oil is extremely easy. Simply pick a dozen dandelions from your garden or the wild and dry the flowers (ie without the stems and leaves) in a cool, dry place away from light.
Once the dandelions have dried, put them in a jar and cover with vegetable oil (your choice). Close the jar and let stand for about three weeks, shaking regularly, so that all the active ingredients of the plants are dispersed in the oil.
