The AAA listing above I think is for automobile drivers. I do the same thing. Properly used, light traffic, good weather, etc no harm done in my view. I can hear/feel the essentials. The added safety margin by allowing me to listen to something other than the whine of the vehicle is something that is hard to quantify.
