I woke up around 30 minutes ago to see a big spider on my wall. Not like a footlong, more like BIGGER THAN THEY SHOULD BE. It horrified me and I immediately damn near go into a full-state panic attack. The distance from the spider to my head was around 6 inches so it was horrifying.
My phobia is taking over my life
I’ve been arachnophobic since I was a child. I’ve had a many incidents of seeing big spiders on my walls or in my room so every night before I sleep I have to turn my flashlight on and do a room check, I’ll do this several times some nights and it can stop me from falling asleep. I never open my windows and keep my room cool during autumn/winter.

buckle in for a crazy story…so i was babysitting my cousin’s little boy, and he was just standing by the quilts when i noticed a wolf spider about the size of a 50 cent coin. if you don’t know how big that is, it’s pretty big. my aunt came over and killed it and we’re both terrified of them but i was basically immobile.
My apartment has an infestation and I'm losing it
I've found like 15 spiders just this week, of all sizes from tiny babies to a silver dollar-sized beast. Some of them I've been able to kill, others have gotten away. Currently my request to my apartment management for pest control has been "assigned to a technician" which means someone will be stopping by someday but who knows when.
