Without its ability, it's still a good plate. However, staying alive instead of dying at zero HP is just too valuable to pass up, especially for melee fighters. Each subsequent hit after zero HP will add to the negative HP counter though and if it builds up enough, the wearer drops dead.

In any case, you'll want the White Dragon for its Cold Aura. This aura lets the wearer deal damage to everyone within a five-foot radius per round or turn. The damage is quite substantial and the best part is that you don't even need too much. Just stand near the enemies and give them the cold shoulder.

Whenever the wearer gets struck with a critical hit, every enemy in a 30-foot radius must pass a Fortitude check. If they fail, they'll be blinded and will take damage. Otherwise, they'll just take damage. It's a little too dependent on how unlucky you are, but worth it.
