2. Overfilling The Pitcher
Blenders can only blend a certain amount of liquid in the pitcher without getting too full and spilling liquid. If you put in more liquid than what it can handle, you’ll end up with a leaking blender.
3. Using The Wrong Lid Type
If you have misplaced or lost your lid for your blender, don’t try to use another kind of lid out of desperation.
4. The Removable Piece Is Dirty Or Oily
If you’re not cleaning your lids and removable parts after every single use there’s a good chance that they could be unclean and packed with bacteria and residue from past blends. If the part is dirty, there’s no doubt liquid will get trapped inside it once you start blending, which can cause liquid to leak out of your machine.
5. Using Too Much Force When You Start The Blender
If your hands are covered in a cleaning product or oil and it gets on the lid of your blender, there’s definitely going to be some leakage. When you go to turn on your appliance, if anything is on top of the lid that shouldn’t be there, it will get pushed through the air vents and cause leaking from where it wasn’t supposed to come out.
6. Using Hot Liquids
Hot liquids put inside your blender can cause leakage if you overfill them because they will expand before cooling off enough for you to blend them. This expansion will cause the lid under the pitcher to push out and if that container isn’t locked into place, liquid can then escape through the air vents.
7. The Blades Are Clogged
Drains can get blocked with food residue over time so this may also be what is causing your blender to leak because there are pieces of food between where the blade is attached to where it meets the shaft of the motor head.
8. There Is Debris In The Motor Head
If you’ve gone for a long time without cleaning your blender or haven’t cleaned it in awhile, there may be some residue in the motor head area.
