Just bought a home and they put common bermuda sod in the front. We let the front grow to a good standing and then didnt cut too short because we heard that it will kill it. Well then we cut it again probably sits at about 2 inches but now it is all turning yellow. We water it about every other day. We have put Turfbuilder on it to help it grow.

Letting it get too long and then cutting it short is what caused your problem. Don't worry it will be ok. Bermuda just isn't green all the way down like some grass and it doesn't look good if you skip mowing and then cut it short. Bermuda will recover though with enough sunlight and nitrogen but it takes longer this time of year.

Hello all I've been stalking this site for some time now and decided to go ahead and join in on the fun. I've had a bermuda lawn for the past few years now and I've never had to do much more than water and fertilize. This all changed in February when my wife and I purchased a new home.

In 90 percent of the yard I can get a screw driver in pretty easy. In the other 10 percent I'm still working on get rocks out. As far as irrigation goes I'm working off of a sprinkler and a hose. The yard is pretty square so I get hit it all without moving it. Watering right now depends on any rain we get.
