Stop using the integrated trans cooler in the radiator. They are known to contaminate the fluid. Also, every rebuilt 4L60 transmission I have had, 4 so far between my vehicles, has needed to have the filter changed after the first few hundred miles.

Is there any sign of coolant in the trans fluid? Doesn't sound like it, so I would suggest leaving the radiator in the loop, as it helps get the trans fluid up to temp faster, so it's in the proper working temp range.

Well, I would suggest carefully reading the owners manual on how to check the level, as it's a much more involved process than what you described, in particular, you have to warm up the transmission to between 180 and 200F, then there are number of specific steps to follow...

I did it that way because the first time I replaced the original trans I threw in the 12 or 13 quarts level required all at once before starting the truck but then under the tranny I noticed fluid dripping from the trans breather hose like if I would've over filled so I quickly started my truck to have the fluid running and this last time I just thought of avoid the overflowing but definitely will check on your suggestion.
