At the very least give the story a watch through the Soul Society arc. After that there's only two more arcs in the Anime (if you only watch canon) and three in the manga. I personally watched/read all the way through because by the time I'd realized what Bleach had turned into I was only investing 10 minutes into reading each chapter a week and I didn't mind continuing to make that time investment.
