I know at least a few frequenters of DF smoke their heroin as I do. All the advice I've read has said to smoke it on the dull side. The only reason I've seen given for this is that the shiny side has a coating. I decided to look into this, and it would seem the shiny side doesn't actually have anything on it.

The difference in appearance between dull and shiny is due to the foil manufacturing process. In the final rolling step, two layers of foil are passed through the rolling mill at the same time. The side coming in contact with the mill's highly polished steel rollers becomes shiny.
