Totally not confused
So I love the lore and story of the souls series i think it's near unbeatable but one thing confuses me. We kill ornstein in DS1 but in DS3 he has apparently left his post in favour of the nameless King. How can this be possible if we killed him.
Why do we fight the soul of cinder?
Or maybe to put it better, why does the soul of cinder want to fight us, is it to stop us from linking the flame for it has learned time and time again that this world is not worth saving? Is it that the flame is so weak and scared of going out that it sees you who is trying to link it as a threat to its existence? Perhaps it has gone mad over the years, and stabs anything that moves? Is there a set reason or is it just speculation?.
