How does swarm commander work?
Swarm Commander mimics “Nasanov” which is the natural pheromone of the worker honey bee. Nasonov pheromone is released by worker bees to orient returning forager bees back to the colony. To broadcast this scent, bees raise their abdomens, which contain the Nasonov glands, and fan their wings vigorously.
Is swarm commander worth the money?
Swarm Commander is well worth the investment. I used it last year and caught 4 swarms!! So I've built 12 swarm traps and was going to use LGO. My other question would be if I render some wax down, could I use the water and wipe the insides of the boxes before putting them out?
What do you put in your swarm-lure box?
In the swarm-lure box are 10 frames with beeswax foundation (I’m supposed to have some frames of drawn comb in there, too, but I don’t have any.
