What is 10 3 electrical wire used for?

10 AWG gauge wires are for loads up to 30 amps, usually at 240 volts. Where the appliances they feed have internal circuitry running on 120 volts—light bulbs or controls—10/3 cables with one wire white should be used, but if 120 volts isn’t required, a 10/2 cable would be ideal and cheaper. 8 AWG gauge wires can handle up to 45 amps.

What size wire for 200 amp service underground?

You need a minimum of #6 ground or #4 aluminum for 200 amps. I would recommend just getting 4/0-4/0-2/0-4 quadplex as it is all rated for direct burial. A conductor is a wire that is used to carry electrical power.

What is Ser wire?

poor customer service; predatory pricing; monopoly practices; aggressive customer retention practices; unethical political hiring; and culture that is profit driven drive all contribute to its poor performance. In this way, many new consumers do not realize they may receive the same inferior service as their previous customers.

What is MHF cable?

The MHF series of RF micro-connectors (mating heights listed below are the maximum):

  • MHF1 (also known as MHF) has a Mating Height of 2.5mm
  • MHF2 has a Mating Height of 2.1mm. MHF2 is extremely rarely used and for this reason, we do not carry cables with MHF2 connectors
  • MHF3 has a Mating Height of 1.6mm
  • MHF4 has a Mating Height of 1.2mm

What is a feeder cable?

Feeder cables are used to supply power from one part of a facility to another, from point A to point B. Perfect for providing temporary power service during construction or to supply power to specialized equipment. Primary feeder cables typically run between main switchboards and power distribution transformers.

Can you use mobile home feeder wire on a house?

MHF cable is recognized for NEC applications and is suitable for direct burial. Aluminum Home Feeder cable always has a triple rating of RHH or RHW-2 and USE-2. Because of this, it is allowed to go inside the building.

Does mobile home feeder wire need conduit?

1. Conduit Wiring Method: All feeder conductors must be continuous in conduit from the main disconnect to a location under the home and wired directly into the distribution panel.

Can you direct bury mobile home feeder wire?

APPLICATION: Aluminum Mobile Home Feeder cable is designed for use in mobile homes as a service entrance cable. The cable is sunlight resistant and is approved for use in accordance with the National Electric Code in raceways and is suitable for direct burial.

Does MHF wire need to be in conduit?

A: Yes, it can, but it must be installed in conduit.

What does URD cable look like?

URD is insulated using cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) and is black in color. Conductors are insulated and surface printed with neutral triple yellow striping making them easily identifiable by technicians and installation crews.

Can MHF wire be buried?

It can be direct buried and must be used in conduit when above ground and in the building.

Can you put URD cable in conduit?

If the cable is SER and not also USE or URD then it is not permitted underground. THHN is not wet location rated, underground is wet location even in conduit, but most THHN cable is also rated THWN, which is wet location rated. THWN or XHHW would be fine in conduit for all the circuit conductors.

What does URD stand for in electrical wire?

What is a mobile home feeder wire?

The Mobile Home Feeder cable is almost identical to standard URD Aluminum except for a couple things. It has a neutral AND a ground wire where URD usually only has the neutral for use as a feed from the utility transformer to the service disconnect.

What is the difference between mobile home feeder and URD?

That's what I have found as well. The Mobile Home Feeder cable is almost identical to standard URD Aluminum except for a couple things. It has a neutral AND a ground wire where URD usually only has the neutral for use as a feed from the utility transformer to the service disconnect. The MHF is designed to be run from the Mobile home's outdoor pedestal mounted service disconnect into the home to feed the house panel. It's insulation is multi-rated as USE-2, RHH, and RHW-2 which makes it legal to run inside the building in conduit.#N#My main reason for starting this thread is to see if any of you folks with lots of experience would know of a reason why I should not design a sub-panel feeder inside a building (or residence) that consists of Aluminum MHF cable with the reduced neutral run in PVC 40 conduit. This seems to be the most inexpensive alternative available. Aluminum SER Cable costs more and does not have a reduced neutral option for some reason.
