Feels like family
I have been working at Hottopic for almost two years. This is a job when I go in I look forward to working with my coworkers and the customers that come in. We all feel like family, management is very understanding of what you need and will work with your schedule, be it another job or taking classes.
Pretty solid retail job
Flexible hours, fun coworkers, intuitive POS, good environment, advancement opportunities, employee discount
Health insurance
While there are good benefits such as the discount and having colored hair, tattoos and good music, you feel like you can get stuck working there. - view all
Flexible schedule
The most enjoyable part is the people I work with, the flexible schedule, and the employee discount (most of my paycheck goes back towards buying things from the store). - view all
Bonus pay
Bonus program is weak, recognition is non existent and the only thing we had as managers (the meeting in LA) no longer happens. - view all

Yearly bonus
Hot Topic doesn't care about it's employees and does not give as much as a 2% christmas bonus even though when they extend you an offer, they tease the possibility of a 10% annual bonus which nobody sees anymore. - view all
Food provided

Fun place to work- Hard time with management
The atmosphere is a great place to be in. I had a hard time when it came to support from management and the issues that would come up. Recommend for a first job, not longterm.
Great discounts, poor management
Overall everyone is friendly. Management was more critical than supportive. You get 40% off of merchandise which comes out to be a very good deal. Clientele were always friendly and quirky.
Fun good people. Accepting. Have to keep up with goals though
they need Better pay. Other than that they’re very accepting . Pretty straight forward. Customer service is nice if trained properly. They do focus on goals a lot.
Fun place to work for a short amount of time
Everyone is a part timer unless you’re a manager so it’s hard to get hours. Employees are nice and environment is fun. Gets hectic during the holidays and funko pop collectors are awful. Also having to harrass customers into buying stuff or signing up for things is annoying.
Easy job with minimum hours
The job itself is easy and it’s a nice environment to work in, not very stressful and simple tasks to pass the day. However you are working with a lot of teenagers which can be annoying and the hours can be anything from once a week to 5 days a week depending on the time of year.
It's ok
District management like to micro manage everything in the store while making no real sense. also took away out microwave for no real reason. management poorly trained with not enough hours. this is more of a place of work for someone who lives with their parents and don't need the money to survive on their own and pay rent. discount is great.
its okay
I've worked at multiple stores and i can confidently say that this would be a good job if you are a student or as a part time employee. the pay is not great, don't expect to rise in the company or get any sort of raise or bonus, the discount though is nice.
