Bonding about 2-3 hours, but some do leave it to following day before skimming depends on size of area. The 3-4 days is a guide, the colour of the plaster will tell you when it's dry enough to paint. Need to leave decent time between paint coats, for each to throughly dry before applying the next one.
What is better bonding or plasterboard?

What is the difference between browning and bonding plaster? Bonding is a undercoat plaster for low suction background like concrete. Hardwall has high impact resistance and is quicker drying. Browning is a undercoat plaster for moderate backgrounds with adequate mechanical key.
Can you paint over bonding?
If you have some multifinish at hand, I'd put a skim coat of that on top of the bonding first, but if you don't then go right ahead and paint the bond coat directly. It'll soak up your paint, so you should probably put on a couple of layers of diluted paint first mainly to seal it.

Why do we use dri coat plaster?
Dri-coat plaster is a little different from the others as it is used for re-plastering after installation of a new damp-proof course (DPC.) Also, dri-coat plaster prevents the movement of hygroscopic salts from the background to the surface. This is an essential function as hygroscopic salts tend to absorb atmospheric moisture, which can lead to damp walls. Therefore, dri-coat plaster helps to protect walls and keep them in pristine condition.

If you are still not happy, phone technical dept of Adhessive you intend to use and speak to them about the situation.

Large areas of bonding are completely unsuitable for tiling. SBR is NOT PVA and should not be confused with it. Skim, then SBR, then tile.

I want to lay a new tile floor in the kitchen but, being the kitchen, I am in and out of there pretty frequently. I know to wait before grouting it, but how long do I have to wait before I can walk on it?
palavaman Well-Known Member
If you use 'fast setting' cement based Adhessive, you can grout after 3 hours from laying last tile. If you then use fast setting grout, you can walk on floor two hours after you finish grouting.
