E.V.O. stands for Electronically Variable Orifice. This component is controlled by an electronic control module that reduces fluid pressure from the power steering pump to the steering gear at highway speeds. Improved high speed handling and road feel is the result.

What are the sealing mechanisms of the evolut Pro valve?

The Evolut PRO valve features an external tissue wrap added to the proven platform design. These legacy and new design features provide the following sealing mechanisms: The external wrap increases surface contact with native anatomy, providing advanced sealing.

How do I remove the Evo?

Take off the skid plate and drop the front lower panel. Tight working space, but it can be done. I removed the EVO with a cut off wheel at the arm and then rotated it out. New one goes in knife, but take your time to not cross thread the hose connection. I feel better that the EVO is out and no longer in the system.

What is an evolut valve?

The Evolut PRO self-expanding transcatheter aortic valve features a unique valve design with an outer wrap that adds surface area contact between the valve and the native aortic annulus to further advance valve sealing performance.

How many times can a valve be recaptured?

Up to 80% deployment. The valve can be partially or fully recaptured up to three times prior to the point of no recapture. Third attempt must be a complete recapture and retrieval from patient.
