He ended up plugging them into virtual reality scenarios, representing what he believed to be their "perfect worlds"; for example, Beast Boy was back with the Doom Patrol, Damage was spending time being congratulated by the Justice Society as a true hero, and Nightwing was confronted by a Batman who actually smiled and offered to talk about their relationship. Although the Titans were freed, there was a strong disagreement between them and the Justice League over what action to take; the League believed that there was nothing left of Victor to save, whereas the Titans were willing to try, culminating in a brief battle, where the Atom and Catwoman (who had followed the Justice League to investigate) sided with the League while the Flash fought with the Titans, until the two were convinced to work together after Batman and Nightwing found the system containing Vic's core consciousness. When fighting villains, Cyborg tends to hang back (usually alongside Starfire) and blast them repeatedly with his Sonic Cannon. Because he cannot fly, he is more limited in the angles of attack he can use at a distance, however he makes up for this with his array missiles. He can fire clusters of missiles very rapidly, and they have homing capabilities, making them effective fast, evasive enemies. When push comes to shove, Cyborg is shown many times to be more than capable of slugging it out at close-range, with even the largest and toughest of enemies. In close-range, he employs a highly aggressive, brawler fighting style, always getting in his opponent's face and utilizing his powerful punches and grapples to pummel them into submission. When dealing with particularly troublesome opponents, Cyborg will use his immense strength to grab large objects, or even entire buildings and use them to smash his enemies, dealing immense damage to them. Along with Starfire, Cyborg is perhaps the most durable of the Titans, and is capable of tanking most attacks with minimal damage, though as shown in Titans East - Part 2, he is vulnerable to slashing damage powerful enough to slice off his mechanical limbs. Cyborg is shown to be extremely intelligent and tactical, second only to Robin in those regards, and serves as his second in command. He is shown many times using his intelligence to deceive and outsmart his enemies, even when they are far stronger than him, such as Brother Blood in Deception and Titans East - Part 1 .

However, Cyborg was no match for either Steppenwolf, though he was still strong enough to send him flying with a punch empowered by the recoil of his cannon, or an angry resurrected Superman, albeit he did briefly and barely held him back using the full force of his cybernatic body before being swiftly overpowered and pummeled.
