What is Optium Museum?

Optium is typically used for picture framing, glazing and face shields for technical instruments but can also be fabricated into three-dimensional products such as museum cases and box frames. In a vitrine application, a museum may desire the non-reflective properties of Optium so the viewer can walk around the art object and view it without glare. Optium acrylic has a proprietary coating on both sides that give the material its exceptional properties. However, the coating does not allow normal gluing as regular acrylic does. Special skills and techniques are required to glue Optium to itself. We have developed our own proprietary gluing process which allows us to fabricate museum quality glue joints with Optium.
