Fishing Events
Sea Center Texas will be hosting two new volunteer orientations in February.
Where to Fish
Fishing is a fun, affordable way for families and friends to spend time together outdoors. Try fishing for free (without a fishing license) in state parks, or buy your fishing license to help support healthy fish populations and their habitats.
Protect the Lakes You Love
Invasive species like giant salvinia and zebra mussels can ruin fishing, boating and swimming for everyone. You can't always tell if a lake is infested with invasive species, and even a small piece left on your boat or gear can infest another lake.
Bigger better bass!
A new era of Toyota ShareLunker is underway! The year-round season began Jan. 1, and anglers who catch a bass that's at least 8 lbs. or 24" can enter their catch online or in the ShareLunker app. Participants will receive a catch kit, achievement decal, ShareLunker gear, and entry into a drawing for prizes including a $5,000 shopping spree!
Fishing for Beginners
If you are (or think you might be) interested in fishing, you'll find fish—helpful videos, articles, apps and other resources to teach you the basics and help you find just the right place to fish.
Free Fishing in State Parks
Did you know you can fish without fishing license or stamps in Texas state parks? Texas State Parks are proud to host “Free Fishing in State Parks” a year-round program to encourage folks to spend time enjoying one of America's greatest pastimes.
Now Stocking Trout!
You'll find rainbow trout in Neighborhood Fishin' ponds and other community lakes from late November through early March. Look over the stocking schedule for specific dates and a location near you.
