USDA hardiness zones: 10-11. This tree must be protected from freezing when young. After 3-5 years, it may handle 28°F for a brief period.

This plant is also known as Wax Apple, but it does not resemble an apple in texture, flavor, or appearance. Other names are Rose Water Apple, which really describes some cultivars more than others, and rarely, Bell Fruit. Nonspecific names used for several Syzygium species include Rose Apple and Water Apple.
