Survived Flying off top of car!

I had my large mixing bowl with mashed potatoes in it for Thanksgiving dinner and for some reason my husband set it on top of the car as we put the kids in their car seats. Well I didn't see it and he thought I grabbed it.

Great for gifts and everyday use

I recently gave this as a gift- the person was THRILLED. The nice thing about this set is the fact that each bowl has a lid. I have owned the 4-set of bowls for about 15 years. They are wonderful for mixing as well as for cooking things in the microwave. They nest inside of each other- so it makes it easy to store them.

Great mixing bowls set

Updated my mixing bowls with this set because my old metal set had a coating on the outside that prevented me from using them as a double boiler. These were a great choice. They work really well with hand mixers and can be used in the oven & microwave.

Bowl broke

I recently attempted to wash my bowl. It was in the refrigerator and was storing leftovers - I removed it from the refrigerator- emptied it and put in in the sink and filled it with hot tap water to soak it. When I attempted to scrub it - it broke into 3 large pieces resulting in a pretty severe cut to my hand.

Bowls that hold things like bowls!

These are bowls. Bowls can be used to hold food during preparation or presentation to your guests. These particular bowls are versatile as they can function with contents either acid or basic. They clean easy and can be used in a microwave without generating plasma.

Worst Lids possible!

When I purchased these, I was expecting the great quality product that mother and grandmother had. But I was wrong. Pyrex has changed the lids on these and they are no longer rubber and seal the dish. Now they are a very hard cheap plastic lid that I will probably pitch because there's no use if they don't keep the product in the bowl fresh.

practical usage

These bowls are great to have to melt and mix and store things in. I like that they come with lids, however the lids are not super sealed so you couldn't but runny liquids in it if you needed a safe travel bowl because it would leak. Also, the biggest bowl is barely deeper than the other bowls in the set, it just is wider.
