Step 1 Insert Batteries
Remove the battery cover located on the back of the handset by sliding it away from the center of the device. Insert the two rechargeable AAA batteries, making sure that you align the flat end against the springs. Replace the battery cover by sliding it in the opposite direction.
Step 2 Charge the Handset
Plug the AC adapter into a power outlet and then connect the AC adapter cable to the charging cradle. Put the handset on the cradle. When the handset is on its cradle, it will show a lightning bolt in the battery icon when it is charging.
Step 3 Register the Handset

There will be a render delay on the first call as the image is transferred to the handset and gets cached.

Unclear what you mean the HD2 had update etc.to correct this issue. If you upload a contact image to myooma it should accept any size. It will then reduce its size internally.

The only way to get this to work is: Save picture on computer in a .GIF format. If this is done you lose your sharpness and contrast of picture. Ooma upload will not format any of the three formats and resize, etc.

Are you doing this at https://my.ooma.com/phone/contacts ? Can't reproduce the issue. Uploading jpg works fine for me. There is one open issue where certain images don't get resized correctly and won't render on the handset. If you run into this try manually resizing to smaller than 8k.
