I have a brand new unit that doesn't work spent 4.5 hours talking to the supervisor Ren, along with the CSR that doesn't listen to anything you say. Also wasted 45 minutes with your tech.. All he could say is purchase a new one and that the old one was never used. Contact customer support. All they say is its a tech issue not there problem.

I purchased magic jack and got to use it one time then it claims I don't have an active account even though I have the invoice then I cancelled the account and later tried to install a new account but says I have an active account there is no place to complain since it claims the phone number they gave me does not exist.

MagicJack is Great
I just cut Verizon because of the robocalls. I am on the do not call list, but that is a joke. MagicJack has solved my problem with call screening. I have had MagicJack for nearly 10 years and have not had problems that apparently others have.
MAGICJACK unreliable company
was a customer for several years renewing on time my number assigned - only this year i forgot to renew my subscription and was locked - called customer service and billing department and nothing to do - EXPIRED is EXPIRED (only two days). No any kind of help - only option: get a new plan.

The worst product and company
I purchased magic jack home. Of course pre paid for service, finally got the product. Could not activate the service, was on the computer with tech support for over two hours. The worst tech support service I ever experienced, totally clueless. Finally was told my unit was defective, given a number to call in the morning ( wrong number).

Wasted over 3 DAYS with customer service agent Chrystal. she put me on hold to figure out why my MJ wasn't working and kept asking the same questions over, just parrot-like responses I believe they reading them from a Script.
MagicJack user since 2010
Having been a Magicjack user since 2010 and believe I've had it long enough to make a qualified opinion. The first 2 or 3 years after the service came out, it was troublesome for sure. Many hiccups that were aggravating but, I felt the $20 a year cost was worth the temporary inconvenience.

I think they prey on they elderly. They never activated my service after I paid and refuse to refund me even after my credit card disputed it. After I finally got through to someone they said would help me she hung up on me
Terrible customer service
Renewed. Got charged twice. Same amount. 2 different days. Tried to get through to MagicJack customer service. Absolutely the worst customer service I've ever experienced. Wasted some money, wasted a LOT of time.
Abysmal. Non descript off shore customer service
Magic Jack is one of those companies that makes it near impossible to speak to a human being. Their CSR's and Tech Support personal are inadequately trained. They hang up on you just as often as they speak to you and 40 minutes into a call will ask you what it is your calling about. Requests to speak to a supervisor are simply unreturned.
Worst customer service, wastes my time!
Magicjack customer service is the worst! I have been asking for them to send me a proper receipt every year and every year they don't send me one. Do I really have to call billing and wait forever until I talk to a representative? They promise to send me a replacement receipt by email but I never get one.
Absolute garbage
Absolute garbage. Every call drops & you can’t use it to check bank balances, or push any additional number for additional service, like a doctor’s office. MJ even admits it’s a known problem they can’t do anything about. We’re going back to Vonage.

MagicJack is an absolute joke. This company is run by a bunch of scabs. They barely provide a "service". The product doesn't work more than the warranty holds. They do not stand by their product, their tech support is absolutely useless and the billing department hangs up on you when you want to find a solution. This company is a disgrace.
Has to be the worst service I have encompassed in years
If you want plenty of hassle and aggravation this company is for you. Have waited hours for customer chat and for call backs by people that have no idea of the product.Have been disconnected while being switched to different departments and while on hold. Will not stand behind the product. Charges to replace defective unit.
