Are outlet testers accurate?

What does the letters GFCI stand for?
Ground-Fault Circuit Interrupters (GFCI)
What is the required tripping time for GFCI?

What does it mean when my plug tester says open ground?
What is an open ground? An open ground is when you have a three-prong receptacle that is not connected to an equipment grounding conductor. This is unsafe because an appliance that is designed to use an equipment ground to discharge an unsafe fault condition will not have a conductor to discharge that fault.
What is GFCI electrical outlet?
GFCI stands for Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter. These are also referred to as GFIs, or Ground Fault Interrupters. A GFCI precisely monitors the balance of electrical current moving through a circuit. If the power goes where it shouldn't, like in a short, the GFCI immediately cuts off the electricity.
Why does my GFCI keep tripping?
If the GFCI's internal current transformer senses more than a 4-5 milliamp loss, it instantly shuts down the outlet and any outlets it feeds to prevent accidental electrocution. Most often, when a GFCI “trips” it is the result of a faulty appliance plugged into the outlet or an outlet down circuit.

Awesome tester
This is the best gfci tester I’ve seen. You can check voltages on a gfci receptacle or a regular one. It also tells you how fast the gfci trips
good tester
have several GFCI receptacles that have been problematic - this is a great diagnostic tool that gives me a sense of what the problem is and how best to go about fixing it
Perfect for Final Testing
This tool is perfect for final testing of receptacles on a final trim out. It also lets you know stuff like Open Neutrals or open grounds. Excellent Piece of equipment. I use mine every day
Great tool for a small price!!
I bought this tool after watching a video about it and I'm so glad that I did, Not only is it a great circuit tester but you can also see the voltage as well. And the voltage is very accurate too. With the GFCI tester, this makes a great all around circuit tester for any electrician no matter your skill level.
Amazing
This is my overall favorite tool I work commercial electrical and every time I am changing a outlet I pull out this bad boy to make sure it’s wired correctly and reviving proper voltage at same time I just hope they make one for 277v that would be amazing.
Great outlet checker with voltage
While a meter can do everything this can, I really enjoy that this is a quick and easy way to verify an outlet. The lcd and green for pass light make it a breeze to check a bunch of outlets and verify voltage at the same time.
Great little tool to have
Easy to use and indicator lights are bright enough to see during the day.
Small and perfect tool
I got this last year and it is a perfect tool to check outlets. We upgraded all the outlets and switches in the house and this really helped to make the job faster.
