I have white grout and have not had a problem, but my backsplash is only 2 years old and I do not have a free standing range or stovetop. My range goes up in the back like ordinary ranges do, and I have a decorative tray on the backsplash between the range top and my hood, so food splatters do not hit my backsplash much.
