You will be given this medicine if a lower dose of NSAID is considered unlikely to relieve your pain and you are at risk of getting a stomach ulcer or an ulcer in the first part (duodenum) of your small intestine (gut) when taking NSAIDs.
How long does it take for VIMOVO to kick in?
It may take up to 2 weeks of taking this drug until you get the full benefit. Tell your doctor if your condition persists or worsens. The risk of side effects goes up over time.

Warnings
Naproxen can increase your risk of fatal heart attack or stroke, even if you don't have any risk factors. Do not use Vimovo just before or after heart bypass surgery (coronary artery bypass graft, or CABG).
Before taking this medicine
Naproxen may also cause stomach or intestinal bleeding, which can be fatal. These conditions can occur without warning while you are using Vimovo, especially in older adults.

Safe use of Motrin for use by children has not been established. It is not known whether ibuprofen is harmful to an unborn baby.
