Is Turtle Back Zoo a family friendly place?
There were several animals not present, and overall it was a bit too crowded (the zoo could have controlled this a little better), but when it comes down to it, Turtle Back Zoo can be a very family-friendly place. Zoo Rules. Turtle Back Zoo is a smoke-free facility. Smoking permitted in designated areas only. Visitors age 17 and under must be accompanied by a chaperone. Pets are NOT permitted.

Is turtleback zoo worth a visit with first grade class?
I’ve been to the Turtleback Zoo before with my first grade class. This time I was able to visit with my family. We had such a great time! We booked the first time slot of the day and I highly recommend that time slot. There weren’t many people there in the beginning and parking was super easy.
Do you have to pay for the Turtle Back Zoo?
Tickets can be purchased Online or at the Zoo Entrance. The funds generated are specifically allocated to be used on enhancements at the South Mountain Recreational Complex. The fee is $2.00 per paid ticket type. Free tickets do not incur a fee. We thank you for your support.
How long does it take to walk through the Turtle Back Zoo?
You can view the entire zoo with breaks in between and actually enjoying yourself with about 3-4 Hours but if you to honestly walk the entire Zoo without stopping it would take you about 30-45 minutes to walk it all around at a slow pace.
Can you bring dogs to Turtle Back Zoo?
Pets are NOT permitted. Guests who rely on service animals may bring them into the Zoo, provided that the animals remain properly leashed. Guests are solely responsible for the care and control of their animals.
