I've had chevrolets all my life....my last truck was a 454 big block and it looked (valve covers anyway) larger than a chev. 350's valve covers.

360 is a big block, so is the 352 and the 332. They are all basically the same blocks with different cores.

I'm not certian but I think the "bigblock" term came out when chevy started making their larger series engines instead of just the 283/327/350 size. just as a funny...
