Effectiveness

Byetta is effective when used on its own and when used with various combinations of diabetes drugs. It significantly lowers your hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c), which measures your average blood sugar levels over the past 3 months.

Drug forms and strengths

Byetta comes as a prefilled injection pen. It’s available in two strengths: 5 mcg per dose and 10 mcg per dose. Each pen contains 60 doses.
