So it's impossible to make a real premixed thinset. What is labelled "premixed thinset" is really sanded mastic. Ideally, such labelling would not be permitted. Mastic is suitable for use on walls, in dry areas, for ceramic tiles (not natural stone) that are no larger than 8" x 8". Anywhere else, use real thinset.
