Does NBME 19 over or under predict STEP1?
For some weird reason, those who took their STEP1 before the question bank switch in early May, NBME 19 underpredicted their scores more relative to those who took it after. Disclaimer: there are about 5 friends in each group. Not exactly a great sample size. I got 244 on 19 and a 247 on the real thing. For my friends, it always underpredicted.

Because the scoring system for the USMLE Step 1 (and by extension the NBME CBSSA) is essentially a black box, we cannot know for sure how predictive these exams will be.

Hi! I’ve seen a lot of people make these posts when they get their score so here’s mine! I’m here to tell you all you CAN handle this, and everything will be okay. I studied for 7 months (Im an IMG), I used FA, BnB, Pathoma, Anking and Sketchy micro. Did UW and Amboss (most of it). I did only the new NBMEs.

I sat the exam on 1/24 and took the free self assessment out of curiosity, and I STRONGLY BELIEVE, this is the CLOSEST self assessment to the real deal. The difficulty and the question style match very closely to the actual exam.
