Is it worth it to work for Wag?
Working for Wag! is great as long as you know what you are signing up for. It's not going to be worth it as a full time job, but that isn't what it's meant to be. It's great that I can take a walk whenever I have free time.

Other than that, getting to hang out with dogs all day and having the flexibility to make your own schedule and walk dogs in different locations is great.

It's a very fun job, I can't imagine a more enjoyable way to make income, However, Wag has been involved in some serious issues which are public, such as walkers losing dogs, so this has affected business. Covid-19 killed business for most of us. With Wag, you will mostly be independent. Wag's customer and employee support is very poor. Wait times to speak to someone on the phone are so long, it is usually useless if you need help while on a walk. The clients are what makes the job worth it. You have an opportunity to build real, strong relationships with pets and their parents.
Is wag good for full time?
Wag is perfect for that. I've only been using the app for six weeks. also live in NYC/Manhattan. My first week I managed to get 3-4 walks per day and have consistently been getting that many walks since, sometimes more when I have the time/energy. Wag alone is not good for full-time income, but it's great for part-time income. I can make my own schedule and work around clients. Yes, if you rely on the text notifications to get jobs, you'll struggle. Keep the app open and refresh and you'll do ok. While I haven't had an issues with losing a dog or getting bitten, I definitely have been presented with walking opportunities that were possible lawsuits waiting to happen, like dogs that are aggressive and lunge or are skittish and wriggle too much. Notes are provided on each dog AFTER you're accepted for a walk you request. This has to change. Walkers request a walk, get accepted and only then learn their dog has issues. This is how accidents happen. If they put in for a cover, they're ability to be accepted for walks through the app algorithm is impaired. WALKERS MUST BE GIVEN ACCESS TO NOTES BEFORE REQUESTING/ACCEPTING A JOB. Walkers also must be given more of a say concerning what owners can stay on the platform. It is a very fun job if you like working with dogs and have some knowledge on how to care for dogs properly. A wonderful company if you really love animals!
