I cant help if its a sprue broken away from a rubber hose. Is it basically the same diameter as the drain hose? I mean would it sit comfortably inside the drain hose. If so ignore it. It cant be a seal with an opening in it.

Whitegoodshelp (Andy)

Don't recognise it but can't see it being a seal if it's open ended and not closed because it couldn't create a proper seal with that gap.

claptoon

Its about 40mm in diameter so not the waste water hose. I wondered if it has accidently found its way into the washer at the factory? I only washed towels and the underwear and socks so I know i didnt put it in there.

Whitegoodshelp (Andy)

It's possible, I know of one case where a screw punched a hole in an outer tub and the repairman blamed the customer. It was sent to the manufacturer who confirmed it did come from the factory.
