You don’t pick the items that go into your Sephora Play box, Sephora curates the items they send you based on the questions you answer for your profile. Most boxes have a theme, like skin care or hair care.

What you could do is purchase a subscription for a month or however long you want the recipient to receive boxes, and just put in the mailing address of your recipient instead of yourself upon checkout. You could also have the boxes shipped to your house and then, ship the boxes to the recipient or give them as a gift in person. The downside to this method is that the person wouldn’t be able to fill out the beauty profile themselves.

This sample is hands down amazing. However, the color they chose to include is not versatile at. all. Like, I don’t know a ton of anyone who would wear that color on the daily.

I think hair masks are the rave right now. This will be the first time I’ve used a Briogeo product, so I’m excited to try. I have a lot of hair so I may only get two masks out of this. Again, this is one of those products I’ll just have to let you know how it goes.

Deluxe Sample
Probably my favorite sample of the box, this is a product I’ve been on the fence about purchasing. I’m debating between this, the Hourglass Veil Primer, and the Burberry Luminous Glow Primer. The Becca is significantly less expensive than the other two but I haven’t been madly in love with the Becca like I was when trying the other two.
When is the last month of Play by Sephora?
In case you missed it, April is the last month of Play! by Sephora. It was the last $10-a-month beauty subscription box, and while we’re sad to see it go, the good news is that there are several great beauty boxes that are $15 or less and would be a great option to try if you’re looking to replace your Play! by Sephora subscription.
How does IPSY compare to Sephora?
You’re getting 5 beauty products each month compared to Sephora’s 6 samples, but IPSY samples are usually larger sized than Sephora’s. (Think deluxe or travel size, with an occasional full-size item, makeup brush, etc.) And, if there’s a fragrance sample, it will be larger than the vial size Sephora would send. And just like with Sephora, you get a bag each month. IPSY sends a makeup bag (not the plastic bag like Sephora) and there’s a new design each month.
How many samples are there in Birchbox?
The sample sizes from Birchbox are very similar to the sizes you’ve received from Play! by Sephora. Expect 5-7 samples on average.
Does Birchbox have lipstick queen?
I signed up for Birchbox after a few years’ absence, and was offered a Lipstick Queen lipstick just for the first and only box. ( I am so sorry I do not remember the code, it was middle of the night when I read this post and just DID IT, LOL).
