You have to be the most serious BB gunner I ever heard of!
Daisy advertises these guns as "up to 350 fps". Trust me when I say these guns do not come anywhere near 350 fps as delivered. About 260-270 fps on a good day is what you’ll see. So I’d like to shed some light on what can be done to make the inexpensive current production Daisy lever guns shoot harder (same things will apply to any similar BB gun).
Keeps me interested
I never thought these BB guns would hold my interest like they have! Part of it is because they are still so close to the first gun I ever had- a Daisy Cub, Christmas of 1960.
i don't know if balistol is ok, but
i spritzed some in my mew model 25 and it seemed to free it up pretty good and it seems to shoot harder. How often i could not tell you.

not correct john
The basic principle is the same as any spring gun. The spring doesn't really compress air but propels a rod that slams forward, hitting the BB and sending it down the barrel. I use the same lubricant on the spring as I use with any air rifle spring.
read my post below
I don't know how much oil is recommended but when I was using Red Ryders (1940s) a friend and I put a lot of oil down the barrel every night. The one my friend had would shoot a bb through a !/2 inch celotex fiber board and he was the one that started filling the gun with oil every night.
