I am wondering the weight of the stihl 044/440 bare powerhead. Anyone actually weighed one put one up on the scale??? My thoughts are this probably is the lightest 70cc saw and may be near the weight of some of the 60cc class saws. update: so far it seems there around 14 lbs which is definetly heavier than the top 60cc class saws by a good bit.

I took a 440 magnum with a 20" bar on trade last year, and while I no longer cut very much I would no longer even consider picking up my 360 or 361, the balance & power of the 440 makes the weight difference unoticable.

The weight changed a bit over the years, but some are a tad under 14 lbs, which is more than most 60 cc saws, but very light for a 70 cc saw. Performance with "do it yourself mods" (no porting) can be very good.

Im gonna guess 14.6 or 14.7. I have never put any saw on a scale. 5 days a week I carry two 8'' cinder blocks in each hand gripped together by the sidewalls, or 4 cap blocks on the shoulder and a 5th in the right hand, multiple times while setting barns, so all saws feel light.
