I always use Permatex No. 3 non-hardening aviation goop. Excellent stuff, slap it on and go. Never leaks. Great to use on paper gaskets etc. makes them reusable. Brilliant for spark plug tubes in K motors.

thanks guys! i bought it for the thermostat housing thinking it was the sort that you used INSTEAD of a gasket... think it may be the sort that goes with a gasket... ill try it out tommorow but ill most likely just have to go buy the gasket...
