If you mean it's goin off too quickly on the wall then make sure you're using enough pva for the background your plastering. It's all about practice really. Try not to play around with it on the wall, especially the first coat. Just get it on, flatten off and knock the next coat up.

Brummie Taffy New Member. Can skim over bonding after a couple of hours or so which should be enough time for it to set. Can leave til next day if big area for instance and then wet down or use pva on it. If skimming over straight after set then skim straight onto.
Can you paint directly onto bonding plaster?
If you have some multifinish at hand, I'd put a skim coat of that on top of the bonding first, but if you don't then go right ahead and paint the bond coat directly. It'll soak up your paint, so you should probably put on a couple of layers of diluted paint first mainly to seal it.
