I've been a Twilight fan for over 10 years now, and there's one question (okay, there are a lot of questions, but bear with me) that I keep seeing about the series
Ok, so if vampires get sterilized once they turn, how TF did Edward impregnate Bella????????
If you're a stan from way back like me, you might already know the answer, but for those who don't – well, allow me to enlighten you
You see, Stephenie Meyer got the question "how did Edward get a boner and impregnate Bella?" so much when Breaking Dawn was released, she included the answer to it on her website. It was one of the first things I looked up when I read the book (lol).
First, here's a quick 101 on vampire biology from Meyer
"Vampires are physically similar enough to their human origins to pass as humans under some circumstances (like cloudy days)...The skin serves the same general purpose of protecting the body. However, the cells that make up their skin are not pliant like our cells, they are hard and reflective like crystal.
Yep. Meyer says that vampires have a venom-like fluid that powers their boners
"The normal reactions of arousal are still present in vampires, made possible by venom-related fluids that cause tissues to react similarly as they do to an influx of blood."
Meyer has an answer for that too
"Like with vampire skin—which looks similar to human skin and has the same basic function—fluids closely related to seminal fluids still exist in male vampires, which carry genetic information and are capable of bonding with a human ovum."
