I am starting up a gas water heater. It is located at the far end of the house from where the gas line enters... about 60 feet of 1-1/4 piping main... and about 15 ft of 3/4 to the unit. The first few times I tried to fire up the unit it cycled three times and shut off.

dont' want to be a whooz but this is not sounding too good. When we switched out gas dryers at work, although a short run, they fired right up.
