1. Open the Manual Bleed Screw
The first way to open this valve is to open the manual bleed screw. You will notice that the manual bleed screw is located towards the back of the valve near the flow control. To open the valve manually, twist the manual bleed screw counter-clockwise until the valve opens. It usually doesn’t need to be more than one-half turn.
2. Turn the Solenoid
The second way to open the valve is to grasp the solenoid (the black cylinder with the wires attached to it) and turn it approximately one-quarter turn counter-clockwise until the valve opens. To close the valve, turn the solenoid clockwise until the valve closes.
From the Timer Box
Turn the dial to the "Auto" position and press the "Manual" key to test the valves on Easy Dial and Easy Set Orbit timers. Each valve will be activated in sequence for the duration it is set for. To test a single valve, use the arrow keys to navigate to the desired zone and press the "+/-" keys to set the duration of the test.
From the Valve
Rotate the solenoid a half turn counterclockwise to activate the valve manually, if it is a model with a lever marked "on/off" at the base of the solenoid. The solenoid is the cylindrical device on top of the valve. If the solenoid does not have an "on/off" lever, rotate the bleed screw counterclockwise a half turn to activate the valve.
